In Loving Memory
My cousin Cory passed away unexpectedly this last June. He was a modern day stripling warrior and a young man to look up to. When my cousin asked me to draw a portrait of him as a surprise Christmas gift for her parents I was honored and so happy to be part of this very special project. My Aunt called me Christmas day and told me how the family all sat around that morning crying after they opened it. She said it was the best Christmas gift she has ever received. I absolutely love drawing, but what makes drawing even more special for me is the opportunity I have to touch others with my work.

In the spirit of Christmas
My friend, Kasey, being the sweet mom that she is placed a special order. She has decided that every year for Christmas she wants to give her little boy a spiritual Christmas gift. Here is the finished product of her little one looking toward Christ. He is our light and He is the way. Thank you Kasey, for giving me the opportunity to take part in such a special project.

Can you say HEARTBREAKER?
I wish I had a scanner versus taking photographs of my pictures, but I guess this will do. The originals look much better. Anywho, this is Jack and isn't he handsome? He has these eyelashes that go on for miles. And his hair, don't get me started....those curly locks. I'm sure envious.
I think this is one of my favorite portraits.

Doesn't he just exude wisdom?

looking back
My little sis and I have been best friends all our lives, so when she got married I wanted to do something special for her. This is what I came up with.
"Our portrait was a surprise wedding gift, and I was blown away by the likeness of the sketch to our real selves. Something about having it done as a portrait just seemed to be more of a tribute than a photo ever could be. Words can't do it justice."
